Basic Water Distribution Program
In this comprehensive training program you will learn the principles of operation and maintenance of a water distribution system and water treatment plant. Training focuses on the developing new and existing water distribution operators with the knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain water systems effectively.
The water distribution course covers sources of water, principles of design, installation, operation and maintenance pipes, pumps, valves, meters and other related hydraulic units. Operation and maintenance safety considerations emphasized. The Basic Water Distribution Course is designed to prepare you to take the State of California Water Distribution Operator exams (D1/D2). This is a specialized training program certified by the California Department of Health.
This course is structured as a facilitated seminar, and will depend on individual participation as well as group discussion for its success. The course is structured to foster student inquiry, discussion and interaction. Readings and class exercises will support this interactive approach.

Fees:
Register for individual classes for $89.00 each or $1,068.00 for the 12 session program. The required text book, Water Distribution System Operation and Maintenance ($49.00 value), is included in the cost of the 12 session program. A certificate of completion accepted by by the Department of Public Health as a 36 Hour Specialized Training Program will be awarded upon successful completion of the 12 session Basic Water Distribution Program.
